A vast 30,000-mu goji berry plantation in Haiyuan County has achieved intelligent, efficient water-saving irrigation by adopting Xingzong IoT’s UC511 solenoid valve controllers and UG67 outdoor gateway.

Efficient IoT Water-Saving Irrigation for Berry Cultivation Farm

The UC511 solenoid valve controllers are pole-mounted and paired with solenoid valves for remote open/close control while monitoring actual valve status. The UG67 outdoor gateway, also pole-mounted, is solar-powered with 4G SIM internet connectivity. Data from valve controllers is sent via LoRaWAN® wireless to the gateway, which connects through MQTT protocol to a water-saving irrigation platform for real-time valve control and monitoring.

Project Benefits:

Reduced Deployment Costs - With reliable LoRa channel deployment guided by gateway noise scans, long-range transmission and wide coverage are ensured. High gateway capacity supports many valve controllers, minimizing gateway quantity and lowering costs.

No Extra Development Costs - The gateway’s built-in NS network server seamlessly integrates with the irrigation platform via MQTT, eliminating the need for additional project development and cutting secondary development expenses.

Easier Expansion and Upgrades - The LoRaWAN® standard supports seamless integration of other compatible devices without added gateways—expanding the system only requires adding nodes.

Improved Irrigation Efficiency - Remote solenoid valve control enables automated irrigation, cutting labor costs and boosting water resource utilization.

Intelligent upgrades in agricultural irrigation are essential for building digital agriculture. Such modernization allows plantations to precisely understand crop needs, implement targeted irrigation and dynamic regulation, greatly enhancing water efficiency. This accelerates digital production systems and supports the "grain secured by technology" strategy, driving food security and fostering green agriculture innovation.

IoT will continue collaborating with top agriculture partners, leveraging innovative technology and superior products and services to build a smart, efficient agricultural production landscape. Together with industry peers, they will explore endless possibilities for digital agriculture, advancing toward a greener, smarter future.
